Britannia Row Productions Paint the Warehouse Floor

The coming months see Britannia Row Productions at their typical busy best, though resources are not quite in their usual deployment patterns, as Britrow’s Roly Oliver explained. “We are providing an enormous amount of self-contained control and monitor systems to our clients for the festival season, and the list is huge: Foo Fighters, Robbie Williams, Will Young, Faithless, Jamiroquai, Oasis, Robert Plant, Marilyn Manson, and Simply Red.”

But doesn’t that leave all your PA gear languishing back at Osiers Road? “Not at all; our EV X-line systems are all out for the REM outdoor shows, the Wireless Festival, Glastonbury, and now the Live8 event in Hyde Park. V-dosc is being used for a tour by The Kings of Leon, and for delays on several of the bigger festivals I mentioned. With our paced acquisition of Yamaha and Digico digital desks over the past couple of years, and our extensive inventory of Midas and other analogue desks, we actually have enough control equipment to run all these PA systems as well as comfortably secure the needs of all the bands who have come to rely on us to provide their monitor rigs for the festivals. That said we are purchasing Crown XS amps and BSS Minidrives to add to our current monitor amp stock in order to cope with the demand for our systems. After extensive listening tests we found it was still the best package as the Crown is a progression from our current C-Audio Pulse amps.”

So this is how you’re going to paint the warehouse floor this summer; by renting out all your gear? “Yep, it’s something we do every year. Do you know anyone besides Rick Wakeman who’s good with a paint roller?”
