City Theatrical Purchases Assets of A.C.T. Enterprises, Inc.
City Theatrical, the Bronx, New York based manufacturer of entertainment lighting accessories, has announced that it has purchased substantially all of the assets of A.C.T. Enterprises, Inc., the Seattle, Washington based manufacturer of lighting hardware. Included in the purchase are all of A.C.T.’s lighting related product lines including the award winning Moving Light Hangers, Track Tamers, Safer Sidearms, and Vertical Extension Tubes, as well as their related patents, trademarks, production machinery and inventory, and an agreement for future product development. All equipment and manufacturing will be consolidated into CTI’s New York production facilities.
CTI’s president Gary Fails said: “I have admired Alan Crawshaw and his products ever since I met him. He’s an inventor and innovator as well as being a well-known stagehand who knows the professional lighting world and its electricians and designers. This knowledge enables him to create products that meet the needs of lighting users. This purchase agreement gives Alan more time to concentrate on product development, as well as a path to market for his future products.”
A.C.T.’s president, Alan Crawshaw commented: “This agreement gives us a chance to do what we both do best. CTI will take care of the manufacturing and distribution, and I will have more time to design new products for them. I think it works out well for both companies.”
