Pioneer Launches 61-inch Industrial WXGA PDP
Pioneer has announced the availability of its new 61-inch industrial plasma display - the PDP-61MXE1. A high resolution (1365x768) true widescreen format display that includes an encased cell structure to improve luminous efficiency, full digital processing for noise-free images and an industry-leading range of connectivity, it introduces Pioneer’s renowned performance for exceptional quality and reliability to the large-screen industrial sector.
The PDP-61MXE1 complements Pioneer’s existing range of XGA 43 and 50-inch displays that along with its 42-inch VGA screen, cover the application and form factor requirements of users across industrial markets.
“The screen displays the characteristics of Pioneer’s commitment to exceptional PDP performance. Images are sharp, crisp and noise-free and colours rich and natural. Also, based on our continuous dialogue with professional users, we’ve identified the requirement for enhanced flexibility in installation and management, so we’ve integrated a huge range of connectivity that’s unmatched in the sector along with video wall and control features. The display adds to our formidable screen portfolio and builds on our reputation for innovation and quality among the professional display community,” observes Nick Parker, general manager, Multimedia, Pioneer GB Limited.
Three key technologies enhance the PDP-61MXE1’s performance: first is the Encased Cell structure that improves luminous efficiency to raise brightness and sharpen even subtle details; second is the Capsulated Colour Filter technology that decreases light reflections and provides accurate colour reproduction and third is The Pure Digital Process that has a major influence on image quality by reducing noise, delivering sharp, vivid images and improving image rendering.
The displays can be installed in a Video Wall configuration - 2x2, 3x3, 4x4, and 5x5. Two Video Wall display modes are offered - one that enlarges all elements of an image so that the entire picture is visible and one that enlarges the whole image so lines between units are not visible. Other functions include a delayed power feature to avoid power overload, ABL link for aligning screen performance and brightness in multi-display installations and ID setting. With the large screen format and flexibility in control, the displays will particularly appeal to retail sites, conference organisers, corporate users and showrooms.
A huge range of connectivity for PC, Video, Audio is available (see spec at end of press release). Control terminals include RS-232C for PC control and a remote control in/out.
Parker concludes: “We’re already the leader in the growing XGA sector. The new product strengthens our position by introducing Pioneer’s premier performance to customers who demand large format high quality displays.”
