Scrub Delivers DigiDelivery

Soho-based Scrub, a division of HHB Communications, has announced the first UK installations of DigiDelivery, the groundbreaking new secure file transfer system from Digidesign.

Ascent Media, DGP, Soundworks, IBF and Electronic Arts have all taken delivery of DigiDelivery ‘appliances’ in recent weeks, enabling them to easily manage the secure delivery and distribution of digital media to clients and colleagues around the world.

Justin Burns, audio technical manager at Ascent Media comments: "Every day we send and receive huge amounts of data between Soho, LA and across Europe. DigiDelivery makes this an effortless task, while providing automatic military-grade data encryption/decryption and ease of use into the bargain. It’s helped make our operations much more efficient - we can now deliver final multi-language feature films direct to DVD production in the US within three hours of finishing it here."

Adds Mark Gardner from leading post-production and DVD house DGP: "Although we have been using FTP and satellite for delivery of files around the world, with Digidelivery Serv|GT wešve taken a huge step forward in the way we send files to our clients. It’s very easy for them to use and they donšt have to invest in any hardware or software themselves. In short, DigiDelivery gives us speed, security and flexibility at a fraction of the cost of the alternatives."

DGP’s digital delivery requirements range from approval cuts delivered locally for post-production clients to delivering large DVD, UMD and VOD files to the European and US offices of major film studios.

"All of our clients are benefiting from the speed that this technology offers," Gardner continues. "Even with our modest internet connection we can now, in the middle of a busy day, get almost 1GB per hour to our clients in LA!."

Faster, more secure and more reliable than FTP or overnight deliveries, DigiDelivery enables the exchange of any kind of digital file of virtually any size with anyone in the world. The system installs easily on an existing network, cable modem, or DSL modem, and files are simply dragged and dropped to send a delivery. Recipients click a link in an email to receive a delivery without the requirement to enter IP addresses, usernames, or passwords. Automated reporting makes client billing a similarly straightforward process.

Scrub director of sales Ben Nemes concludes: "The DigiDelivery ServLT and ServGT products are precisely the sort of technology that many of our clients have been crying out for. The days lost and costs incurred through traditional means of moving media between locations are no longer an issue."
