Sunderland and Barnard form Theatrelease

A new service company has been created by two of the industry’s longest serving veterans. Steve Sunderland and Peter Barnard have joined forces in a new venture to supply audio design and supply to provincial and West End theatre. The company, Theatrelease Ltd, already has its first contract agreed for London’s famous Savoy Theatre.

Steve Sunderland comments: "Because of Peter's association as distributor of Outline Professional Audio in the UK and our use and commitment to Outline's now famous H.A.R.D. 212 stage monitors which we have used on Real Big Fish, Haley Westenra and Catherine Jenkins with Audiolease it was a ‘No Brainer!’ to look and hear other Outline products which are gaining World reputation for quality. Following this, Peter and I decided to form a new company which will service the West End and provincial theatres and will be run totally separate to Audiolease and Peters' rental company Sigma AV Ltd.”

The Savoy sees the debut for Outline’s ‘Butterfly’ line array which now holds nine worldwide patents on its technology. A total of 20 CDH483 high packs (10 per hang) are flown left and right of the stage. Two Outline Victor live sub basses are also used. Stage monitoring will see 14 mixes handled by Outline’s Micra II self-powered and Outline's HARD 212 SP low profile stage wedges. Side fill duties will be via Outline's award winning ‘Kangaroo’ system. Power and control are provided by Outline digital TP 6.5 power amplifiers and controlled by Outline's latest DSP controller the ‘Genius 26’. FOH control will see a Midas Legend 52 channel console loaded to capacity and a Midas Sienna 40/16 for monitoring duties. Transmission to stage is handled by Optocore via fibre optics.

The theatre system was designed by collaboration between Steve Sunderland, Peter Barnard and Mike Osman.
