Systems ETC Gets Rave Reviews for Glastonbury Cinema
London PA company Systems Etc took its brand-new Electro-Voice XLC compact line-array system down to the Glastonbury Festival for the first time, where it was deployed on, around and behind the Cinema Stage.
The huge open-air cinema was equipped with a unique 5.1 system using EV XLC. Left and right of the big screen were arrays of six XLC127+ full-range cabinets, ideal for covering wide areas since they offer 120 degrees of horizontal dispersion. Behind the centre of the screen were three top cabinets and three low cabinets, while on either side of the stage were three X-Line Xsubs. Two further stacks of speakers at the rear of the audience viewing area completed the surround system.
The Cinema Stage has been acclaimed as one of the highlights of the 2005 Festival, reports Bernard Manni of Systems Etc, who will be using the EV XLC system on a number of outdoor festivals in August, including the TDK Festival in London on Bank Holiday weekend.
