Blitz Charter Appoints Group Finance Director
Blitz Charter Group has appointed Neil Gordon as its new group finance director. Blitz Charter Group was founded in 2004 when it acquired the businesses of Blitz Communications and Charter Broadcast. Neil Gordon's appointment completes the structure of the board of directors of the Group.
With over 25 years in financial management and control, Neil gained his professional accountancy qualifications at Ernst & Young and has worked internationally with PricewaterhouseCoopers. Michael Breen, CEO of Blitz Charter Group, comments: "We are delighted that Neil has accepted this position with us. Neil's financial and corporate strategy skills will enhance the company's credibility with our shareholders and funders and increase business opportunities. We look forward to benefiting from his professional expertise."
Neil Gordon comments: "I've known of both Blitz and Charter for some time, and could see great potential for the Group. Blitz Charter has a dynamic outlook and has built a reputation as a market leader in the Audio Visual and Broadcast Services sectors. When I was first approached to join the Group in January 2005, I felt I could make a valuable contribution to Blitz Charter's future. I will be focusing, in the first instance, on bringing the financial processes of Blitz and Charter in line, as well as examining internal procedures to further augment the Group's excellent level of service and product offering to its customer base."
Neil's appointment completes the board of directors at Blitz Charter Group. Neil will join Michael Breen, an accountant and founder of Blitz in 1989 and now CEO of the Group; and Mike Watts, a banker, with 12 years broadcast experience at Charter, who is now group chief operations officer. The Group's two businesses are headed by Paul Hutton, at Blitz, who has 20 years Audio Visual experience and Ed Everest who has 30 years Broadcast experience and will join Charter in September 2005.
