Community are AA1 with a Double First at PLASA
Glasgow-based Community UK, established only a month ago, will be exhibiting for the first time at this year’ PLASA show on stand AA1 in the Audio Area on the first floor. Being at PLASA was described by Community as a key element in the marketing launch of their UK venture. The timing of the show is also perfect for Community UK to announce their appointment as the exclusive UK distributor for the Italian amplifier brand, KIND.
Located in Galliate, about 50km south-west of Milan, the KIND brand was established by Audio & Audio in 1984 and now manufactures a comprehensive range professional power amplifiers using both SMPS and linear power supplies. All products are designed and manufactured in-house and the range covers a wide variety of applications, including touring and rental, fixed installations and recording studios.
With power ratings from 320 to 5600 Watt, both the class AB and lightweight hi efficiency class G products feature innovative technology combined with generous component selection for the highest audio quality and maximum reliability. Status monitoring and sophisticated protection are standard for all models. The range includes four and six-channel amplifiers, ideal for installation zoning and active loudspeaker configurations, in addition to the wide range of dual-mono products.
Examples of advanced developments by KIND include the introduction of IOC input cards that can provide filtering, crossover and EQ functions without the need for an external processor – an ideal cost effective and tamper-proof system solution. Also new is KIND WinARC (Amplifier Remote Control), a comprehensive monitoring and control system for up to 99 amplifier channels at distances up to 1km over cat 5 cable. Amplifiers can be individually addressed or assigned and group controlled, and settings can also be stored for selected events.
Commenting on the appointment, Community UK’s managing director, Stuart Thomson, said: “We are delighted to be distributing KIND in the UK. We knew of its reputation for quality and reliability from mutual distributors and it must have been almost unique in being a world-class product without UK representation. What finally sold it to us was a recent shoot out that we organised. We evaluated it against top models from the more established leading brands, hoping that it would compare favourably. What we heard excelled all expectations and placed the KIND amplifiers at very top for audio quality.”
Alessandro Cortese, MD and founder of KIND, also commented: “We are very pleased to appoint Community UK to distribute KIND. As a distributor they combine the enthusiasm of being a new company together with experienced staff and a great attitude towards customer service. The UK is a key export market for us and we will ensure Community receive our highest level of support.”
Together with the launch of KIND amplifiers at PLASA, Community will be showing a very wide range of their existing loudspeaker systems and launching 4 new models in their successful high power iBOX Series.
