FX Rentals Sponsors Diesel-U-Music Awards
Once again, FX Rentals has sponsored the annual Diesel-U-Music Awards, held at London club Canvas in Kings Cross.
This year’s Awards Ceremony featured the best unsigned talent from across the UK, evaluated by Dieselıs network partners FX, the Encompass music conference, Sanctuary Artist Management, the Music Managers’ Forum, The Hospital, ilikemusic.com, The Band Agency, CWNN, International Talent Booking and Westbury Music, who spent four months trawling through demos. The invite-only ceremony, hosted by Radio 1’s Edith Bowman before a 250-strong music industry crowd, also saw accolades presented for Contribution to Music and Lifetime Achievement, which went to Mark E Smith and Gang of Four respectively.
Directly after the ceremony, Canvas threw its doors open for 2,500 music lovers and bands including The Magic Numbers, The Paddingtons and Lady Sovereign took to the stage along with this yearıs unsigned winners The Pistolas, Chalk, Shuffle, Riddla, Genetics, Luke Ashworth and Inside Us All. FX supplied a whole package of equipment including Shure SM58 microphones, Shure UHF radio mics, AKG C747 lecturn mics, Pioneer CDJ 1000 CD turntables, a DW drum kit, a Marshall JCM900 head and 4x12 cab, an Ampeg SVT2 bass head and 8x10 cab and a Fender Twin.
"FX Rentals have been involved in Diesel-U-Music since its inception five years ago, and have provided an invaluable service throughout our partnership that has enabled us to continue putting on great events," said a Diesel spokesperson. “They are very well known and respected in the business which also helps Diesel-U-Music as a project, as we only like to work with the best!"
If the success of previous Diesel-U-Music winners Mylo and Tom Vek is anything to go by, 2005ıs selected few should be looking forward to great things, and FX Rentals looks forward to continuing its relationship with this significant event in the music industry calendar.
