HM Electronics at PLASA with UK Distributor Orbital Sound
Audio communications specialist HM Electronics will exhibit at PLASA for the first time in conjunction with their sole UK distributor Orbital Sound.
Orbital will bring the potential of HME’s range of wireless digital intercom systems to the UK market, including the award-winning DX200 and HME’s new Pro 850 2-channel UHF intercom. Chosen by HME as a specialist in their field, Orbital boasts the technical know-how and the sales customer base to expand its market share across applications as diverse as broadcast, theatre, conferencing, and live events.
Orbital’s technical support team also provides the know-how and ability to offer 24/7 support in line with HME’s rigorous standards.
Having scooped the ABTT 2005 Sound & Comms Product of the Year Award in June 2005, the DX200 has built on its immediate success in the UK, already being deployed by Orbital on UK theatre tours, including Beauty and the Beast, Chicago and Thoroughly Modern Millie.
In addition to its 2.4 GHz license free operation, the DX200 provides crystal clear, secure and interference free communications. Ideal for a host of applications where seamless communications is vital, it offers an advanced digital design and is very easy to operate.
Additionally, it is compatible with all 2 and 4 wire ring intercom systems and can be integrated into existing installations with the minimum of fuss. A standard DX200 system comes with a base station and four full-duplex belt packs, but up to 15 belt packs per systems can be accommodated for more users. Two base stations can be linked to easily double the number of belt pack users.
The system features other innovations including remote mic unlatch and voice prompts for beltpack users. Adding to its practical design, beltpack remotes are powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion cell, which lasts up to 20 hours.
HME’s sales manager, John Kowalski, commented: "The PLASA Show is a tremendous opportunity to present the HME line of wireless communications equipment to the live event, entertainment, and installed sound markets. We're excited about being here for the first time with Orbital and look forward to a great showing."
