It’s all Cricket with Arena Seating
With a young and determined England Team poised to seriously challenge the world dominance of rivals Australia, demand for tickets would be at unprecedented level and additional seating supplied by Arena Seating ensured fans would not be disappointed.
The Riverside Ground at Durham was the first opportunity for the England Team to perform and Arena installed 1,500 additional seats from which fans could savour England thrashing Bangladesh. This number was increased to 8,500 in readiness for the NatWest Series One Day Night Match when the Australian World Champions emphasised their status with a clear cut victory over England and set up the prospect of the most exciting series of Test Matches in memory.
In the meantime, at Gloucester County Ground, Arena personnel were busy installing an additional 1,200 seats in readiness for the NatWest One Day Match, which eventually saw England secure an emphatic late evening victory from a position that looked a lost cause earlier in the day.
Henceforth, the scene looked set for a gripping Ashes battle. Arena featured again when the MCC decided to enhance the capacity of Lords Ground to fulfil the fans demand for tickets working with Arena Seating director, David Withey.
David Withey commented: “Every ground needed a unique installation to realise the maximum capacity. The challenge was different at each ground with Lords being especially complex due to the height of the stands and sensitive nature of the site. The problem was different at Durham and Gloucester with the brief being fill the ground with grandstand seats! We knew every seat was sold so the site surveys and drawings were crucial.
“With all the excitement generated by this Ashes series it has been great to have been part of such a sporting occasion.”
