Midas and Klark Teknik Hold First Training Seminar In Latvia
Midas and Klark Teknik co-hosted their first training seminar in July in Riga, capital of Latvia, for a 60-strong crowd of sound designers, engineers and technicians from theatres, rental companies and TV stations eager to get to grips with the latest products from both brands.
Under the banner of Managing Performing Arts Across Europe, the seminar was held by local distributor GaCo in conjunction with The New Theatre Institute of Latvia. Midas and Klark Teknikšs brand development manager Richard Ferriday gave a presentation focussing on the brands’ latest products developments including the Siena STS package (which allows the sološd outputs from Siena to be shown on the KT Helix digital EQ system) the Verona console, the KT DN370 graphic equaliser and wireless remote control of the Helix system, via a tablet PC. All products were available for hands-on demonstrations.
GaCo was only recently appointed as Midas and Klark Teknik’s Latvian distributor, and this was the first joint event for the companies. "GaCo is our first distributor in this territory, and along with a handful of other individuals, they are in a position to mould the future shape of the fledgling pro-audio industry in their country," says Ferriday. "It is important in developing markets that we work closely with our local distributor to establish our brand values with their customers."
"Although our relationship with Midas and Klark Teknik is still fairly new, the brands are well known here and have a good reputation," says GaCo’s Normunds Eilands. "All the main rental companies use Klark Tekink and Midas products, including the largest one, Universal Baltic Sound which already owns a Heritage 2000 and several Venice consoles along with KT DN360s and a 48 channel Klark Teknik active microphone splitter system."
