A Ray of Sunshine for Light Relief

For the first time in its 95 year history, Rosco would develop a colour with a charitable group and donate income from the sales of that colour annually to support their activities. The proposal was accepted and lighting designer Rick Fisher worked with Rosco technicians for several months to develop the colour. At the PLASA show last year, Supergel #313, Light Relief Yellow was introduced. In keeping with the mission of the organisation, to improve the lot of needy designers, #313 turns white light into sunshine!
This year at PLASA 2005 Rosco presented to Light Relief a cheque for $3,397 - which represents just the first of a continuing stream of contributions (There are colours which were in the original Rosco gelatine swatchbook in 1910 which continue to be specified for plots today!). Hopefully, lighting designers will be using #313 for the next 95 years and the donations will continue!
