Alen & Heath Ugrade for Mnchester Bar

Derby-based installer Pro Technical recently completed an AV upgrade in Manchester's Fat Cat Café Bar, designed around an Allen & Heath iDR DSP system, which provides integrated control for the venue's audio and lighting.

At the heart of the system is an iDR-8 digital mixing processor, where all the audio settings are configured. Preset changes in the iDR output custom MIDI and RS232 strings to integrate with the lighting system in the venue. A PL-4 wallplate and PL-5 IR hand held device provide remote control for adjustments to volume or source selection.

"The PL-5 is a great tool for operating light and sound at the touch of a button. From the remote, you can alter the volume, or select the signal source i.e. from the CD player to a live DJ set up, and you can recall preset lighting programmes," comments Pro Technical's Richard Anderson.
