Keystroke from Rosco
Keystroke, shown for the first time at PLASA, is a combination of a hardware interface and a software application that allows any DMX based lighting controller to trigger keyboard commands on a Windows XP based personal computer.
Because most applications on a PC can accept keyboard commands or shortcuts, Keystroke allows you remote control these applications. The most popular use of Keystroke is for triggering PowerPoint slides in time with your lighting cues.
The Keystroke hardware is capable of "listening" to DMX generated by a lighting console. From the software you can set which DMX channel to listen to (1-512). Also within the Keystroke software you define what will happen when the channel is set to a particular level. You might set up that when the Keystroke hardware receives a value of 100% (255), then the software will send the system a space bar command. Keystroke does not send multiple key presses, it will not hold down the space bar. To send a second space bar press, you will need to set the DMX channel to some level outside of the range defined for the space bar, and then set the channel to 100% again.
