Reality Czech for DiGiCo D1 Live

T Servis already owns a full range of analogue consoles but the company recognised that with digital audio playing an ever-increasing role in sound reinforcement obtaining a high quality digital console was a ‘must’.

“DiGiCo invited us to a seminar where we had the first chance to check out the D1 and D5,” says T Servis’s Radim Janousek. “We were very impressed by the way the consoles are made and the way they sound but also, most importantly, the user interface. We also like its small size, that all the effects are onboard, and its expandability makes us as future proof as we can possibly be,“ he continues. “Putting all those things together with the fact that the future of audio is digital, we realised that we needed a DiGiCo console.”

T Servis chose a D1 Live as their ideal model. Despite having had some hands-on experience at the DiGiCo seminar, it was a relatively short session. So, once they’d got it set up in their premises, the company was pleasantly surprised all over again at how easy it was to learn the console’s more advanced features.

“I was surprised at how fast we learned how to operate the console. This meant that we could send it out to start earning its keep very early on,” says Radim.

The D1 Live is already being used extensively as a monitor console for orchestral shows, as well as the main board for outdoor festivals. But it’s also been changing attitudes in Prague as well.

“We invited some local bands to a session on the D1 in our premises,” Radim continues. “They were so impressed that they’ve said it’s definitely going to be included on their new sound riders.”
