grandMA Video Control is “Hot Stuff” at the Leicester Haymarket

’Hot Stuff’, the spectacular Christmas show still running at the Leicester Haymarket Theatre, is now in its twelfth year. The previous four re-incarnations of the production used slides and movie projectors, however, this year, for the first time, all was controlled using a grandMA console: a full-size grandMA controlling the conventional and large moving light rig with a grandMA Video media server controlling the projections.
Tim Routledge’s stunning design had to be extremely versatile - changing the atmosphere from traditional theatre into rock and roll, panto and large-stage musicals. Effects such as flames added into the lighting from the projection system, space scene backdrops, and projected news clip images with moving subtitles are all controlled by MA Lighting's grandMA. The entire system was supplied by Hawthorn Theatrical.
Tim Routledge says: “Due to extremely tight deadlines and the multimedia requirements for this production, the ability to design and programme the entire show on the same console made it the only viable solution.”
