LD’s ‘Light’ Investment
Following an extremely busy year, UK lighting designer Tim Routledge has moved forward into 2006 with the immediate purchase of a grandMA lighting console.
Tim has invested in the extremely powerful grandMA Light console which offers the full power of the full-size desk in a smaller compact size. “I have used the grandMA console range pretty much exclusively for the past two years and there is no other desk on the market that has the power and flexibility of this system,” he states. “Any purchase of this size for an independent LD is a massive investment and I had to be satisfied that it was the right choice, but the last 12 months have proved to me I have made the right decision.”
2005 saw Tim using the console on a range of shows from live music at Hammersmith Apollo, to time-coded musicals onboard cruise liners. He finished off the year designing and programming ‘Hot Stuff – The Christmas Edition’ at the Leicester Haymarket Theatre where he also used the new grandMA video system. “I am intending to complete this investment with the purchase of a grandMA video system in the coming months.”
By combining GrandMA’s visualiser software and other network capabilitym, Tim is now confident of providing his clients old and new with a service that will give them the benefit of prepatched and programmed shows that will save both time and money whilst on site.
