Renkus-Heinz Line Array Powers All-Star Guitar Show at NAMM
Renkus-Heinz is joining with co-sponsors Lectrosonics, Beyerdynamic and Location Sound Corp. to put on one of the hottest shows of NAMM 2006 in Los Angeles..
Ronnie Montrose, Chris Cain and Johnny Hiland will perform for invited guests on Saturday, 21st January at the Radisson Hotel on Convention Way, right across the street from the Convention Center. To help these stellar names steal the show, Renkus-Heinz is contributing a completely self-powered house and monitor system to meet the three-way brief of great clarity and dynamic range, compactness and minimal system setup time.
Passes will be available on a first-come, first-served basis through Lectrosonics (Booth 1206, Hall E) and Beyerdynamic (Booth 6500, Hall A) as well as from Renkus-Heinz and Location Sound Corp.
“The very talented and exciting players on stage in the Radisson Anaheim Ballroom will provide an excellent showcase for the high power STLA/9 line array, as well as our latest self-powered subwoofers and stage monitors,” says David Rahn, national sales manager for Renkus-Heinz.
Just four cabinets a side of the STLA/9 system will cover the room, along with two DR18-2 self-powered subwoofers – with four self-powered PN121M cabinets delivering the monitor mix on stage.
The show opens at 7:00pm with NAMM favorite Johnny Hiland. Hiland’s guitar is featured on records by Randy Travis, Toby Keith and Ricky Skaggs, who has called Hiland “the most versatile guitar player I’ve ever heard”. Steve Vai signed Hiland to his Favored Nations label after hearing a short demo left by Hiland’s manager on Vai’s voicemail.
At 8:30pm Chris Cain brings his jazz-tinged blues guitar and B.B. King-style vocals to the Radisson Anaheim Ballroom. Critic Larry Nager says: “Cain is one of the most compelling young bluesmen on today’s scene.”
Guitar icon Ronnie Montrose hits the stage at 10:00pm. Montrose has recorded countless records including albums with Herbie Hancock, Van Morrison and Edgar Winter along with a number of his own solo projects.
