5 Star Supplies Primetec

5 Star Cases has supplied leading Swedish corporative event and exhibition design and production company Primetec with 65 smart new jet black cases, each tailored to house eight PowerPAR lighting fixtures.
The Gothenburg-based company also has an office in Stockholm and works worldwide on a variety of large-scale presentation projects and corporate sector installations.
They first met 5 Star at PLASA this year, although the Cambridgeshire case manufacturer’s reputation also went before them, with Primetec having received several recommendations.
Having just bought the PowerPARs – a PAR style fixture with 575 MSR lamp and ballast - especially for their work in the automotive industry, Primetec needed cases – and needed them quickly - explains director Jesper Svensson. This was one of the reasons they were sourced outside of Sweden, where there are less high-capacity case making options.
The initial discussions took place at PLASA, and three weeks later the case spec was finalised, the deal was cut and the design completed. This left 5 Star a tight 10-day deadline within which to manufacture the cases and have them ready for shipping.
The project was managed by 5 Star’s Sam Nickls who worked closely with Primetec to determine case design, specification and logistics. The case was a variation of Super-Tour specification, although specific requirements for Primetec were included in the design. Internally the cases comprised an 8-way compartment system with both foam and carpet lining to all areas.
“5 Star’s efficiency was most impressive.” says Svensson. “The quality of their work in excellent and their pricing very competitive – everything you would want from a supplier.”
5 Star’s CNC machine shop and automation facilities enabled the large order to be delivered within the timescale. Nickls comments: “Orders like this are always demanding – a new client and case design, and a short lead time – but we are completely geared up to deliver under these circumstances.”
The cases will go immediately into action for the Primetec’s larger motor show contracts across Europe.
