Blackout all the way at Sapphire 06 in Paris
Blackout supplied all rigging and drapes to cover 6,500 square metres of exhibition space at the Paris Expo – Porte de Versailles for the Sapphise 06 conference.
Hosted by SAP, supplier of enterprise software applications and business solutions, Sapphire 06 Paris is an International customer conference held for three days for decision makers and businesses from more than 25 industries worldwide.
To host and support the many different elements of the conference, a large and intricate infrastructure was supplied. Blackout staff were involved with not only with the supply of product, but were also on site to help with the rigging of the venue, which included 800 rigging points and 6km of Blackout truss to support over 3,700 lighting fixtures.
Over two kilometers of drape was used as well as cyclorama and banners. Blackout allocated, partitioned and dressed each area. Exhibition space was dressed along with meeting rooms, presentation theatres capable of seating up to 200 people, plus catering areas as well as a 3,000 seat main auditorium.
John Stilwell from Sassy Ltd. who provided the design consultancy and operational technical management on site said: “This is no small operation, and has been in planning for over five months. Blackout are the only company who can supply these quantities of draping materials at a consistent quality and service. They are certainly a company which involves itself well beyond simply the supply of product, and their contribution and advice, working in a venue that they knew better than we, was invaluable.”
