Stage Electrics Run ‘Moving’ Course!
Stage Electrics recently ran a moving lights master class for BECTU members in The South West. The course was held at The Princess Theatre in Torquay and was attended by staff from four South West theatres.
Two theatre electricians delivered the course; they ensured that the delegates achieved the training objectives by splitting the course into theory, lecture and practical demonstrations. At the end of the course delegates were given the opportunity to apply their new skills with hands-on experience supervised by Stage Electrics’ Liam Welsh.
The course covered; a introduction to moving lights, changing lamps, changing gobos, identifying faults, assigning addresses and DMX control.
BECTU are committed to improving the learning and development opportunities of their members and felt that Stage Electrics with their wealth of experience and expertise in the industry were the obvious choice to deliver this course.
Martin Roberts, chief electrician of the Princess Theatre said: “The course was excellent and everyone enjoyed it.”
Sara Alarabi training manager from Stage Electrics said: “We plan to expand the range of courses we offer. In addition to our renowned safety courses, we will be holding a range of technical master classes and personal development courses throughout the UK in 2007.”
