The ESTA Foundation Announces Mid-Atlantic Technical Training Week
The ESTA Foundation has announced ‘DC Technical Training Week '07’, a five-day schedule of courses for lighting designers, programmers, technicians, and electricians, to be held January 29 through February 2, 2007 at Prince George’s Community College in Largo, Maryland, 12 miles from Washington, D.C. The training is co-sponsored by Theater & Entertainment Technology at Prince George's Community College and The ESTA Foundation’s Seminars & Training Committee.

Monday, January 29 and Tuesday, January 30: 10:00 AM-5:00 PM
Entertainment Electrician Seminar
Taught by Richard Cadena, freelance lighting designer, author, editor PLSN; Learn the principles and applications of electricity in the entertainment field, from basic electricity to the use of 3-phase power, digital electronics, dimming, control, networks, documentation, and troubleshooting.
Wednesday, January 31: 10:00 AM-5:00 PM
Stage Power Distribution
Taught by Richard Wolpert, Union Connector; This course will cover basic concepts of electricity and demonstrate equipment and principles of power distribution in the entertainment industry, with a survey of the equipment, cabling, routines, and safety considerations.
Thursday, February 1 AND Friday, February 2: 10:00 AM-5:00 PM
Jands Vista Console Training
Taught by Steve Irwin, Show Training Network; This one-day course will include basic programming and operation of the Jands Vista lighting console.
OR
Martin Maxxyz Console Training
Taught by programming expert Vickie Claiborne; This course includes a basic introduction to the use of the Maxxyz lighting console.

Fees: $1000.00/ full week, $225.00/day
ESTA, IATSE, USITT members: $950.00/ full week, $215.00/day
Lunch and coffee breaks will be provided daily.
