Cadac J-Type is a Winner in the 2006 Olivier Award Nominations
All the nominations for the 2006 Olivier Award for Best Sound Design featured a Cadac J-Type Live Sound Production Console, reports Cadac Electronics Plc, demonstrating the J-Type's enduring position as the console of choice for leading sound designers around the world for major productions. The nominees included Paul Arditti for Billy Elliot The Musical, Christopher Shutt for Coram Boy and, on Guys and Dolls, Terry Jardine and Chris Full, with Paul Arditti scooping up the Best Sound Design Award at yesterday's gala presentation.
Managing director Bob Thomas believes that more than 75% of the current Broadway and West End shows feature a Cadac analogue console, reflecting Cadac's continuing supremacy in sound quality, reliability and bullet-proof performance: “We would like to offer our congratulations to Paul Arditti on his Award, and to the other nominees. The majority of today's leading sound designers continue to look to the J-Type as the lynchpin of a show's sound system, based on its legendary sound quality, dedicated facilities and intuitive operation. This is matched by rental companies' appreciation of the desk's reliability, longevity and virtually bomb-proof operation! Designers have been able to compare the relative merits of analogue and digital desks for some time, and it is a fact that for the majority, the J-Type remains the preferred choice.
