Scissor Lifts Cut Through Health & Safety Issues

ECT recently supplied a number of video projector lifts that have been installed in universities, who have recognised the compelling reasons for installing them. These reasons are equally valid for many similar commercial applications. At Keele University, in addition to the operational benefits, the cost of installing has been recovered within two-thirds of a year.

Roger Phenton, the manager of the Media and Communications Centre at Keele University, is responsible for the installation and maintenance of all the AV equipment on campus. He explained: “With the new Working at Height regulations access to ceiling mounted projectors in large lecture theatres must be via scaffold. This is not only a costly and time consuming exercise, it also means that teaching is disrupted. Recently we have installed several scissor lifts, distributed by ECT (European Communications Technology) and this has alleviated all of these problems. The lifts enable technical staff to access the projectors safely and quickly. We are planning to fit scissor lifts in all the large theatres on campus.”
