A.C. Lighting North Show Draws Leading Guest Speakers
As well as providing the first opportunity in the UK to see prototype or final production models of over 75 new products from leading brands, the A.C. Lighting North Tradeshow (Leeds Armouries, 25-26 April) is notable for the calibre of industry professionals presenting free and unique guest speaker seminars.
The full programme of seminars and times is now confirmed as follows:
Tuesday 25th April
11.00am - Aluminium Structures in the Entertainment Industry
AKS Ward’s Peter Hind provides an overview of the design and use of indoor and outdoor structures, including the development of truss design, assessment of loading, structural theory and stability.
12.30pm - The New Noise at Work Regulations
The PSA’s General Manager, Andy Lenthall, runs through the more stringent new 2006 rules governing noise exposure at work and presents the work they have been doing with the HSE to ensure that the entertainment industry can comply.
3.00pm - Winter Olympics
LD Durham Marenghi discusses his recent experiences as a Lighting Designer for the 2006 Torino Olympic Games.
Wednesday 26th April
11am - Live 8 Staging
Star Hire’s Roger Barrett provides a look at how a bunch of ordinary people, with no formal qualifications, worked together to pull off one of the world’s most famous events.
12.30pm - Live 8 Lighting
Top LD Pete Barnes reveals what it is like to design and operate the lighting system for an estimated global audience of 3 Billion.
3.00pm – Look out – here come the Vidiots!
BBC Lighting Director Bernie Davis discusses why television has different needs from stage, investigating the similarities and differences in requirements and techniques.
Final new product additions added to the show include (on the Harman Pro stand) the JBL VP (Venue Performance) Series powered reinforcement systems family and Crown XTi two channel, networkable power amplifier series, comprising the XTi 1000, XTi 2000 and XTi 4000 models.
XTA will also be showing (on the beyerdynamic stand) the new XTA 4 Series audio management systems, comprising the DP446, DP444, DP424 and DP448 models.
