Arena Seating Dancing on Ice
Arena Seating is staying cool supplying the audience seating for ITV’s most recent primetime Saturday hit celebrity show, Dancing on Ice.
The programme is currently being filmed at Elstree Studios with Torvill and Dean teaching novice celebrity contestants, including Bonnie Langford, Dame Kelly Holmes and David Seaman, the moves.
The Elstree Studio was transformed into a stunning ice arena by ITV Productions, who worked closely with Markus Blee, designer, and Paul Drake, art director on the show. To ensure the live studio audience enjoyed the event in comfort they brought in Arena Seating, who supplied 370 tiered seats built in five different blocks around the ice rink, giving everyone a clear view of the skating action.
Arena Seating’s project manager Tony Sainsbury managed the installation over Christmas and New Year period. This was particularly challenging, with a restricted area to install the seating in very close proximity around the ice rink to give maximum atmosphere for the assembled audience and people watching at home.
An ITV spokesperson said: "The series has been a tremendous success for ITV1 and ITV2, pulling in audiences of over 11 million viewers. There is no doubt that the fantastic set design and seating have contributed to this."
