Community: iBOX and more at Frankfurt

Community Professional Loudspeakers are again taking a substantial stand at this year’s ProLight+Sound in Frankfurt to show their wide range of products offering unique solutions for a very wide variety of sound applications.

The main focus of the stand will be iBOX, a range of premium quality, large format systems that are ideal for sound reinforcement in stadia, multi-purpose sports facilities, houses of worship, nightclubs, bars and live sound venues. The first iBOX models were introduced at Frankfurt last year but this year’s exhibition will see the first showing of the complete range in Europe.

Instantly proving its capability, the first major installation of iBOX was at the Palavela arena that hosted the 2006 Winter Olympic Games in Turin. The main PA for this 6,600 capacity venue, used for the figure skating and short track speed skating competitions, consists of 96 Community iBOX loudspeakers; 32 iHP3594H, 26 iHP1596, 20 iHP1294 and 18 CPL42-94.

Complementing iBOX, the new iLF218 is a high-efficiency, dual 18-inch subwoofer offering exceptional punch, high output, and low distortion. The iLF218 uses a unique combination of techniques to keep voice coil temperatures low to avoid power compression and ensure long-term reliability. Active-Air cooling uses the bass ports to move outside air over the motor structures of each driver. Additionally, cone movement drives air through the vented magnet pole-piece to cool the motor structures and BCL (Balanced Cone Loading) improves the linearity of the system by balancing the front and rear air loads.

Also complementing Community’s iBOX and performance FOH systems is the M-Class (M12) stage monitor system. The M12 is a compact, stylish, no compromise solution that exceeds the demands of high performance monitoring. At a mere 10.5-inches (267 mm) high, the M12 offers clean sightlines for audiences and cameras.

Community will also be displaying their R Series and WET Series, loudspeakers that prove that even the most hostile environments do not need to be a limitation on great audio quality. R Series are capable of providing high intelligibility over very long distances and are also proving their ability at the Winter Olympics.

Completing the show line-up are Community’s multi-purpose I/O (Indoor/Outdoor) loudspeakers and Cloud ceiling loudspeakers, offering high quality for installations where aesthetics are important, and the DnD and MVPII ranges which provide superior cost-effective solutions for portable applications and on-stage use.
