MH3 Stars at Mauritius Film Awards
Getting high-quality mixing desks onto the island of Mauritius can be difficult at the best of times. And when the prestigious LIC Zee Cine Awards were held recently at the Swami Vivekananda International Conference Centre at Domaine Les Pailles, sound engineer Ronnie Fraser was determined to use a 44ch Soundcraft MH3.
To meet sound production company Kawai Entertainment Ltd’s requirements, a console had to be flown in specially by Soundcraft’s local distributors, Robert Yip Tong Enterprises & Co, for an event which is broadcast by Zee TV to over 80 countries in the world.
Last year this event was held in London and the year before Dubai. Among the guests who saw Black win the Best Movie award (as well as many other categories) was Mauritian Prime Minister, Dr. Navinchandra Ramgoolam.
As for Ronnie Fraser, he was just happy to have been the first person in Mauritius to use an MH3 — justifying his decision by praising the superiority and flexibility of the desk’s EQ section.
