White Light North’s Prize-winners in Blackpool’s Festival of Light

The Blackpool office of leading entertainment lighting supplier White Light claimed the prize in the Blackpool Festival of Light this year - and is now the holder of the trophy which, appropriately, takes the form of a Lava Lamp!

The Blackpool Festival of Light is part of the Blackpool Illuminations, the biggest temporary lightshow in the world. This year’s Festival of Light included a wide range of new lighting creations, including a giant mirrorball installation by Michael Trainor entitled ‘They shoot horses don’t they’, lit by Greg McLenahan, as well as an exhibition of the history of the illuminations with drawings and plans dating back to the 1930s.

As part of the Festival, local businesses were encouraged to add illuminations to their hotels and shops to provide visitors with lighting to enjoy beyond the traditional seafront illuminations. Being a lighting supplier perhaps offered White Light something of an advantage! As well as the trophy, White Light North’s Jeff Demain was also presented with a cheque for £5000. The prize money will be used to supply each of five worthy causes with £1000 of lighting equipment.

White Light North’s office in Blackpool, alongside White Light North’s main base in Sowerby Bridge near Halifax, allows White Light to offer its full range of products and services to customers in the north of England and Scotland.
