Proel Launches Nearfield Monitors

Proel (International) is launching a new range of active and passive nearfield monitors aimed at project, home and commercial studios, as well as AV and broadcast applications. Called the Apextone M-100 Series, the newcomers offer exceptional acoustic accuracy and reliability at very affordable low prices.

Both models, the M-100 and M-100A, are two-way designs, featuring a 6.5" shielded woofer and 1" ferrofluid-cooled soft-dome shielded tweeter. The M-100A has a built-in 100W bi-amped power amplifier. They are of a bass-reflex design and come loaded with a 2" tuned cylindrical port for optimised linear bass response.

The monitors deliver a clear, transparent sound and linear frequency response for perfectly balanced mixes that translate accurately to other systems. The cabinets feature a curved front baffle for reduced high frequency diffraction and excellent imaging, not possible with conventional square-edged baffles. The heavy-duty cabinet construction offers increased structural integrity and stiffness for clean, articulate performance even at high SPL levels. Gold-plated binding posts provide easy hook-up to banana plugs or spade connectors. The M-100 will handle a maximum input of 120 Watts.

Additionally, the Apextone M-100A features onboard 100W bi-amped powering and offers both XLR and 1/" TRS balanced/unbalanced inputs. Both models measure 34cm x 21.1cm x 26.4cm, the M-100 weighing 5.37 kg, the active M-100A weighing 6.9 kg.
