2006 A.C. Lighting North Tradeshow Proves Another Hit with Industry
The sixth annual A.C. Lighting North tradeshow in Leeds on 25th/26th April has been another resounding success, with visitors particularly praising the high calibre of new product launches and guest speaker seminars.
New lighting and staging product launches included lighting consoles from Jands, Compulite, Martin and Zero 88, LED fixtures from Chroma-Q and Pulsar, luminaires from ETC, Martin, Selecon and Spotlight, dimming systems from Strand and Zero 88, lamps from GE, Osram and Philips, as well as other new products from City Theatrical, Le Maitre, Manfrotto, Multitex Engineering and Rosco.
New audio and visual product launches included speaker systems from Apart, Community, JBL, Kling & Freitag, Neo, Radian, Renkus Heinz and Tannoy, processors and control solutions from Allen & Heath, ElectroVoice, Violet Audio and XTA, communication systems from ASL, Sennheiser and Shure, amplifiers from Crown and QSC, as well as other new products from Kelsey, Neutrik, Sanyo and Phonic.
A highlight for many visitors though were the guest speaker personal accounts by lighting designer Durham Marenghi on the 2006 Torino Olympic Games, and lighting designer Pete Barnes and Star Events Group’s Roger Barrett on the production of Live 8 - arguably the world’s biggest music and sporting events since last year’s show.
Other seminar topics included aluminium structures in the entertainment industry from AKS Ward’s Peter Hind and the new noise at work regulations from the PSA’s Andy Lenthall.
Visitor feedback included a major equipment sales and rental customer from Northern Ireland commenting: “The A.C. North Show is the only show that allows you the chance to meet many manufacturers under one roof, without being interrupted! It’s a great social and business event, allowing networking opportunities. The show gets better every year.”
A leading lighting design and equipment rental customer from the North of England also commented: “A top show, great to pop over to a local event and catch up with so many suppliers and contacts. I Appreciate the effort put in by all at A.C. North and they should be proud of a great show.”
Feedback from exhibitors has also been very positive and included Martin Professional’s Jessica Oakley commenting: "Once again it was a very well organised show, which has grown year on year with a good calibre of visitors which makes it really worthwhile.”
Exhibitors represented a selection of entertainment technology brands from the product areas stocked by show organisers A.C. Lighting, who supply to over 80 countries worldwide from their offices in Leeds and High Wycombe.
A.C. Lighting’s Northern sales director, Jonathan Walters, commented: “I’m very pleased with the encouraging feedback and record turnout we’ve had for this year’s A.C. Lighting North tradeshow. The show format is based on A.C.’s philosophy of offering customers the widest possible choice of entertainment technology brands under one roof, matched by the highest levels of customer service, so it’s very encouraging that our customers value the service provided by the tradeshow. A big thank you to our sponsors and everyone who attended the show.”
Due to the overwhelming success of this year’s event planning for next year’s show at the Royal Armouries Museum, Leeds has already started, and dates will be announced shortly.
