ABTT Theatre Show 2006 Awards
Product of the Year for Lighting – Strand’s new Palette consoles.
Widget of the Year award – Tomcat’s Chain Runner.
Stand of the Year – Rope Assemblies’ Snakes & Ladders (this gave visitors a chance to test their knowledge on LOLER).
Sound Product of the Year – Orbital’s CSC Software show control.
Rigging/Engineering product of the year – AVW Controls – for new fleet-compensated Pegasus power flying hoist.
Technician of the Year – Antony Bridges (1964-2005). From a gap year with Theatre Projects he returned to Imperial College to finish his degree in Physics. He later joined Strand Lighting service department in 1990, spending the five years travelling the world, commissioning new installations. Antony joined White Light and then the BBC as Studio Engineer and later as special projects engineer. It was during this time Antony was diagnosed with cancer, which took his life.
