J&C Joel gets Touchy Feely with new Fabric Sampler Card

Tactility is a key – and to that end drapes specialists J&C Joel has produced a luxurious new fabric sample card, illustrating 54 of their most popular and wide ranging fabrics ‘in the flesh’.
The idea is to give clients a practical, user-friendly reference media – that hangs on the wall – offering an immediate impression of what specific fabrics feel like to touch. Information relating to each sample includes construction, dimensions and fire retardancy, and is printed in English and Mandarin – reflecting J&C Joels’ increasing export trade with Asia.
The reverse of the sample card showcases the diverse range of J&C Joel projects. It includes some fabric related projects – like Belfast Opera House, The Coliseum in London and Blackpool Grand – all Matcham Theatres, where J&C Joel’s fabric expertise has been instrumental in recreating period internal draping and curtaining. There’s also plenty more projects involving stage machinery and the design and installation of lifting systems.
The new sample card – co-ordinated by Fiona Blackett - is also linked to J&C Joel’s new website. An entire new sample brochure is planned for the autumn followed by a full colour corporate brochure.
Meanwhile, J&C Joel were visited by their local Labour MP, Linda Riordan, whilst at the recent ABTT Theatre Show. She popped over from Westminster and spent the morning on the stand learning about the new products, and taking a real hands-on interest in her constituents and their business from Sowerby Bridge, near Halifax in Yorkshire.
“Linda thought our new website was excellent and highly informative,” reports Walsh, “and was very impressed that we had done projects like the cosmetic dressing for Crufts, and with our export trade with China – as you are more likely to hear about imports rather than exports to China right now!”
