QSC Gets High in the Austrian Tirol

QSC Gets High in the Austrian Tirol

The Austrian Tirol has a proud reputation for being one of Europe’s leading ski destinations, and situated in the midst of this picture-book location is Walchsee, where the five star Hotel Seehof recently underwent a complete audio upgrade.

Independently run by the Münsterer family, the requirement was for an audio system which offered simple and flexible functionality. With a combination of QSC loudspeakers and amplification — as well as other processing components — these demands have now been comfortably met.

Where the need for flexibility was particularly manifest was in the hotel’s seminar area. This space is used alternatively as a single large hall, or divided with a mobile partition wall as two smaller seminar rooms for presentations. With a single button push, each configuration can be adapted and audio optimised for speech intelligibility as necessary, with the DSP controlling eight QSC AD-S52 speakers and a QSC CX254 4-channel power amp.

The Hotel Seehof’s events area is known as the ‘Tenne’, and incorporates a gallery. Here QSC ISA 450 power amps drive the six QSC AD-S82 speakers which are arranged in a 360° array suspended from the ceiling; feeds are taken from DJ’s, live bands and background music appliances.

Elsewhere, five more AD-S52 loudspeakers have been deployed in the children’s creche while six QSC ADC152ST ceiling speakers deliver the sound to the fitness room — all powered by QSC ISA 450’s.

QSC’s AD-S Series is a chicly-designed, full range, surface mount loudspeaker that fits perfectly into multiple environments such as this. The AD-S52’s low frequency driver is magnetically shielded, making it perfect for use near video monitors, while the AD-S82 incorporates QSC's revolutionary IntelliDock intelligent mounting system combined with the Advanced Directivity rotatable waveguide.

QSC's new ADCI52ST represents the state-of-the-art for in-ceiling speakers, delivering exceptional sound quality for background music and paging systems in a wide range of applications.

All QSC equipment in use at the Hotel Seehof was supplied by Graz-based EXACT Vertriebs-GmbH, QSC’s Austrian distributors, whose managing director Roman Wieser also provided design support.

“One of the biggest reasons for the client choosing QSC’s AD-S Series in preference to other proposed brands was because of the superior design of the system,” Mr. Wieser confirmed.

Planning and execution were carried out by Klaus Höfer (Vatter Acoustic Technologies), Stefan Gieringer (Murdock Music Entertainment) and Peter Klymiuk (Klymiuk Elektroanlagen).
