Turbosound New Products have first UK airing at ABTT Theatre Show

For the third year running, Turbosound exhibited a selection from its highly acclaimed range of professional loudspeakers at this year’s ABTT Show, held in London’s Royal Horticultural Halls from 14th to 15th June.

The TA-500, a new wide dispersion addition to the acclaimed series of Turbosound Aspect enclosures, had its first UK outing and elicited a good reaction from the show’s visitors. The TA-500 is a trapezoidal, three-way, full-range cabinet offering a dispersion pattern of 50° horizontal by 25° vertical, combined with medium throw characteristics. It features a similar driver complement and voicing to the narrower dispersion TA-880 products, providing a one-box solution for small and medium venues, as well allowing the two types of cabinet to be integrated together in larger systems.

Also on show was the new TSB-118 bandpass subwoofer that employs a single 600W rms 18” driver to develop an impressive 136dB peak SPL with outstanding low frequency energy from a compact cabinet.

Tuned to provide a frequency response that is useable to 30Hz, the TSB-118 is a perfect complement to QLight and TCS Compact series enclosures. The cabinet comes with stacking feet and a pole holder as standard, with an optional wheelboard for portable use.

Additional products from the QLight series, designed for theatre use, were the digitally self-powered TQ-310DP, TQ-445DP 3-way, TQ-425DP front-loaded sub, and the passive TQ-308 which doubles as a very compact FOH/wedge loudspeaker.

Launched at Frankfurt, and also on show for the first time in the UK, was be the TCS-C50T ceiling loudspeaker – designed specifically for the voice evacuation, paging and background music markets. It is a 5” two-way passive product designed to give high quality audio in a 75W rms, easily installable package with included 70v/100v line transformer.

“The ABTT has been very good for us in the past,” comments Turbosound’s marketing director Martin Reid. “We have had a lot of interest from theatre technicians, system designers and consultants and, more recently, we have seen an increasing number of rental companies visiting us there and this year was no exception.”
