Grandstands and more from eps for Robbie Williams’ Close Encounters Tour in Europe
To ensure adequate technical support for the tour management of the German part of the Robbie Williams Close Encounters tour, MTC Konzertagentur GmbH decided to trust in eps as the official partner for all infrastructural needs. Beside the complete infrastructure for the six sites in Germany, eps will also supply the grandstands for the shows in Dresden, Hamburg and Cologne in a specially designed arena shape. For the shows in Vienna, Paris, Brussels, Milan and Budapest, eps will also take care of the protective flooring of grass surfaces in the stadia and also the stage barriers.
In all, this tour is one more opportunity for eps to prove its European pole position as the most competent partner when it comes to service, hardware and logistics for big scale events, say the company.
For the Dresden show, eps will load, transport and construct more than 240 tons of material, packed on 78 trucks. Beside the grandstands, this includes more than 90,000 sq.m of ground protection (aluminium roadway systems, grass and ground protection systems), 228 specially designed security gates, 860 stage barriers including variable units, 899m of demarcation barriers and 12,300m of partially covered mobile fencing. Flagpoles, flags and cable mats complete the package.
At the special request of the promoter, eps has designed innovative entrance areas that not only welcome the audience, but also provide shelter from sun and rain during ticket control for the shows in Dresden, Cologne and Hockenheim. In addition, a system of signage, produced by eps, will provide an easy and safe direction finding for all visitors.
