HHB Focuses on Audio Technology for HD TV Content at IBC 2006
HHB Communications is to draw on its comprehensive experience in advising on and providing audio technology for HD TV content, creation, management and delivery at IBC 2006, where the company will exhibit on stand number 8.554.
In its roles as a leading professional audio equipment supplier, the exclusive UK distributor of Dolby pro audio products and as an innovative manufacturer in its own right, HHB Communications is ideally placed to advise broadcasters, TV facilities and OB units on the tools necessary to create, manage and deliver 5.1 audio for HD TV.
Indeed, the London-based company is already active in a number of projects including the refitting of trucks from the UKıs largest independent OB facilities company NEP Visions for Sky HD sports coverage, and installing Pro Tools/ICON systems in more than a dozen broadcast and post facilities for 5.1 audio post production via its specialist division Scrub.
Such experience makes HHBıs 2006 exhibit at IBC a natural focal point for HD TV audio-related issues. The HHB Broadcast Sales team will be on hand along with personnel from Scrub to advise on all aspects of multichannel audio production from 5.1 microphone capture and DAW recording through to post production, monitoring, secure file transfer and Dolby encoding for transmission.
Equipment on show from HHBıs comprehensive product portfolio includes Digidesign Pro Tools and ICON consoles, Apple computers, Dolby encoders and multichannel audio tools, Lynx interfaces, Yamaha digital mixing consoles, Tascam and Marantz recorders, Neumann and Rĝde microphones, TC processors, DK meters, Wohler rack-mounting monitoring systems and monitor loudspeakers from Dynaudio and Tannoy. The full range of Tannoy Precision and Reveal monitors are on show, including the new Precision IDP with WideBand? technology.
First unveiled at IBC last year and now shipping in volume, HHBıs own FlashMic is the worldıs first digital recording microphone. Combining a high quality omnidirectional microphone with an inbuilt broadcast quality Flash recorder, FlashMic is busily recording news and interviews around the world with users praising its convenient operation, excellent sound quality, long battery life and fast file transfer.
Meanwhile the HHB Portadrive is fast becoming the standard issue location recorder for major film and TV productions. Combining multichannel recording in post-friendly formats on a rugged, removable HDD with simultaneous recording of rushes to an external drive, sophisticated on-board mixing and comprehensive timecode facilities, PORTADRIVE is ideal for HD TV and D-Cinema audio acquisition.
Commenting on HHB’s IBC exhibit, sales director Steve Angel says: “Changes in the audio infrastructure are in many ways more complex than the video in the move to HD TV. Weıre delighted to share our experiences with visiting delegates and look forward to meeting our many broadcast and post customers at IBC.”
Visitors to the HHB booth can also request a free copy of the HHB Catalogue 2006/7. Hot off the press, this yearıs edition covers 164 pages and is packed with details of products from more than 150 manufacturers, with a special focus on HD TV audio technology.
