London Show’s Its Pride with Sunbaba
EuroPride 2006 took place in London for the 35th year, with 500,000 marchers, and three stages, celebrating the first year of civil partnerships for same sex couples. The march began at Baker Street, and ended in Westminster, bringing the centre of London to a standstill, with revellers then gathered in front of three stages to enjoy an afternoon of celebration.
Sunbaba created branding and scrims for each of the three stages, made from digitally printed Ultramesh fabric. The Dome stage in Trafalgar Square featured the blue Euro Pride branding, while a mobile stage in Leicester Square acted as the Virgin Mobile Red Light Cabaret Club and was branded with black and red stage scrims to set the scene for the audience.
In Soho Square, a stage featured DJ’s throughout the day, where Sunbaba covered the DJ booth with branded wraps for each of the acts, made from Insight digital canvas, changing as the artists took to the stage.
Dean Parker of Wild Ones, production company for the Soho Square and Leicester Square stages commented: “The Sunbaba team are great to work with, and best of all they deliver what I need, when I need it. The stage and site branding looked great on both our areas and for us every element of the event production worked really well.”
Sunbaba also produced 50 hand-held banners, which were carried in the parade, crowd, and branded for the event’s sponsors including large ‘Mayor of London’ banners which surrounded the Trafalgar Square stage.
