Model Solutions from Stage One

Stage One jumped at the opportunity to model their skills recently when the Company was asked to design and build the set for a series of fashion shows held at the prestigious Met Quarter - Liverpool’s new 150,000 sq ft shopping centre.
The Company built the modern, stylish set, which was designed by Tim Wilding to reflect the beautiful surroundings of this fashionable new centre and which incorporated the lighting design of Chris Walker, of The Lighthouse.
Steve Dolan, Stage One’s account director said: “As with every project there were several difficulties to overcome. In this instance we needed to design and build the set taking into account the permanent centre furniture. We also needed to ensure that the building of the catwalk, and the subsequent shows, caused minimum disruption to the normal running of the shopping centre.”
The 15m x 2.5m catwalk was constructed using some of Stage One’s extensive range of Hangar Staging. To achieve the required catwalk ‘polished’ look, it was finished off with white gloss dance floor materials, along with a white gloss laminated fascia. Finally a polycarbonate detail was inserted amongst the floor to allow for up-lighting. The Company also built a changing room of felt flats and panels to the rear of the set. This was an interesting and challenging project with a lower profile than
the Company is often associated with, successfully demonstrating that no matter the scope of the project Stage One will deliver, with their usual high standards of workmanship and professionalism.
Steve Dolan added: “The project came in under budget and on schedule even though we had a very short lead-in time, which was obviously to the great satisfaction of everyone involved.”
The fashion shows were produced by Manchester based Production Facility, Ultraviolet.
