Morbit is Perfection for Pusscat Dolls
Upon its return from Chatsworth, Star Events Group immediately sent its new Morbit staging system on a second outing, this time to Windsor racecourse. The show, staged by Vodafone and called ‘TBA’, was number three in a series of one-off gigs taking place in unique settings, where fans are informed about the artists and locations via a series of text and website announcements leading up to the event.
The first show featured Snow Patrol at the Royal Opera House, the second featured the Zutons and took place in Liverpool. For this, organisers Endemol chose the classic SS10-08 stage, also part of the Star Mobile fleet.
The production team chose the Morbit for the third show, which featured the all girl band Pussycat Dolls, for its versatility as well as its aesthetics.
Britannia Row flew an L-Acoustic dV-SUB and six dV-DOSC on either side of the stage using the Morbit’s integral cranes. The stage was dramatically draped in gold.
Jane Russen, director of Star Mobile, was on site for the duration. “The Morbit looked really stunning – the girls from the Pussy Cat dolls were almost upstaged by its good looks,” she laughed. “But then I am biased and I’m not sure any of the men in the audience would agree with me.”
The show was broadcast on Channel 4 on Saturday 1st July.
