New VL500 Arcs Showcase at Volt Festival

New VL500 Arcs Showcase at Volt Festival

Volt is one of the most popular festivals in Hungary offering an eclectic mixture of music spread over 10 stages entertaining 35,000 guests. Taking its name from a pop culture magazine in 1993, the festival has established itself over the years and also boasts one of the most charming locations in Hungary, Sopron.

Vari*Lite distributor Chromatica, has been involved on the Hungarian festival circuit for many years and were proud to showcase 12 VL500 Arcs on the main stage in collaboration with one of their main clients, Expander 2000. This was the first time these new fixtures had been seen in Hungary and the response from the visiting LDs was astonishing!

Chromatica owner, Imre Makkay enthuses: The feedback from all the bands was great. The new VL fixtures offered each band, whatever their music, the flexibility to transit smoothly from rock explosions to pretty pop styles of lighting. Our technical manager Áron Kovacs designed the festival lighting rig and I enjoyed watching the shows so much that I forgot about the longs hours we were working!

Many LDs decided not to use the 80 Parcans that were available to them on the rig – choosing just operate the VL500s. The result was amazing and complemented the other lighting fixtures perfectly. The lighting specification also included six VL2500 Washes, six VL3000 Spots and an array of generic fixtures.
