Outline Butterfly at the Circus Maximus for Football Celebrations
Outline’s Butterfly line-array was used on the 10th of July at Rome’s Circus Maximus on the occasion of the celebrations dedicated to the members of the Italian soccer who won the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
In the long night of celebrations by an estimated crowd of a million supporters who arrived from all over Italy to pay tribute to their heroes, there were 28 Butterfly Hi-Pack CDH 483 and 12 Victor Live subwoofers, powered by Outline’s Series T power amplifiers and controlled by Genius 26 processors, also manufactured by Outline.
Mounted on four strategically positioned scaffold towers, the Italian firm’s systems – which are already compact, but in such a huge throng were objectively ‘invisible’ – reinforced the speech with their usual high level of naturalness and intelligibility.
The audio rental firm responsible for the operation (commissioned by Rome Municipality through Audio Wave) was Blackout s.r.l. from Vasto (in the Italian province of Chieti), which recently purchased a Butterfly system for its various projects. Deejay Service s.n.c. from Rende (CS), who also own an ‘Outlinearray’, also provided valuable support for the event.
