Sounds Like Stagecraft
Salisbury based Stagecraft Theatre Services (STS) is celebrating the completion of new sound installations worth in excess of £120,000 at two schools and a live events venue. STS has been responsible for the complete design and installation of the new systems, which include new QSC modular loudspeakers and Yamaha digital mixing desks.
“It has been exceptionally busy for the sound department this year and so far we have completed over 30 installations. Each project has varied dramatically, from the installation of simple microphone and speaker systems in a school hall, to complex mixing desks and modular loudspeakers at a live events venue,” explained STS’s Martin Palmer.
The main installations for the company this year have included work at Sherborne Boys School, Guildford School for Girls and Cheese & Grain in Frome. STS has worked closely with each team to develop the individual systems, and will continue to provide each venue with training and advice over the coming months.
Mike Taylor from Guildford School for Girls commented: “I found Stagecraft Theatre Services extremely intuitive and helpful and they’ve gone more than the extra mile in helping us achieve our aims and needs. The whole team bent over backwards to help us and the sound and lighting system we have ended up with is outstanding. We have had no end of comments from people who have seen our performances!”
Equipment installed by STS includes: QSC low frequency transducers, QSC infill speakers, amplifiers and modular subwoofer, Shure wireless microphones, transmitters and remote amplifiers, Allen & Heath 32 channel mixer, Phonic microphone and Helix board mixer, Yamaha 02/R digital production console, memory expansion software and CD burner.
