ADLIB Audio Introduces New Management Team

ADLIB Audio has introduced three new managers to its lively and energetic Merseyside-based operation – Dave Jones (PA Hire), Roger Kirby (Sales) and Peter Abraham (Lighting Hire).

It is the final element of a staged realignment exercise that started 12 months ago and has included a £250,000 investment in revamping, expanding and re-organising its warehouse and offices and the acquisition of lighting rental operation Adlite.

“It’s all designed to streamline the company further and ensure we deal efficiently with the massive increase in workload we’ve experienced over the last two years,” explains director Andy Dockerty. He continues: “It’s also aimed to free up the director’s time to focus on actually structuring and ‘directing’ the company. Apart from that, hopefully I’ll also get time to mix more live bands and possibly even embrace the ‘digital console revolution’ that I currently detest.” (Dockerty is also known as Analogue Dad).

Dave Jones has been with ADLIB for 15 years – following a work experience placement. He is an enthusiastic manager, hungry for new business, and will be working closely with newly appointed PA warehouse manager, Phil Stoker, who’s mission is to ensure the gear always leaves the premises pristine, and that they keep abreast of the latest technology. Jones will also be supported by senior PA account handler Phil Kielty and Lindsey Farrell in the office.

Roger Kirby has been at ADLIB 12 years, since leaving Liverpool University, originally working as a live sound engineer. He moved into sales five years ago, gaining a wealth of practical hands-on experience – and the accompanying respect – with him, where his communications and technical skills have proved a winner for ADLIB. Kirby will be supported by fellow director and designer Dave Fletcher and Ian Greenwood who’s now managing the Joinery Shop. Admin wise, Kirby will work alongside Nick Turner, and Mark Burnley has been brought in as installation projects manager.

Pete Abraham initially joined ADLIB’s Sales department seven years ago and then moved into Lighting five years ago – his original intention – as the vacancies occurred. With ADLIB Audio’s purchase of Adlite Productions came Abraham’s chance to run the busy lighting department.

ADLIB are one of the few UK based rental companies able to offer a comprehensive, cost-effective combined sound and lighting package.

Added Dockerty: “With the new infrastructure in place, we’re anticipating that the directors will now have the time for their proposed foot massages, feng-shui classes, golfing days, continual holidays in the Caribbean and more time to spend on their yachts. After all, we know how easy it is in this industry!”
