Blitz Car Spectacular

Blitz, the leading technical staging specialist, has aided in the triumphant return of the British International Motor Show to London by supplying suitably impressive audio-visual displays for General Motors, BMW and Saab.

Blitz has risen to meet the numerous challenges posed by designing and implementing a dramatic and distinctive AV display for the General Motors stand that works within the constraints of the Excel Exhibition Centre environment. Other challenges included the constraints posed by the stand itself and sound level restrictions in the vicinity of the stand.

Blitz has worked with General Motors for over seven years and was selected in February 2006 as the preferred supplier of audio-visual equipment and display at this year's Motor Show which returns to London for the first time in 30 years. In order to maximise impact while working within the limitations of the stand environment, Blitz specified and provided an 11 x 3 metre LED wall, creating 33 square metres of display to show off some of the finest cars in the world. It distributed high resolution graphics across the entire wall, using Medialon to allow one member of crew to run 8 V1D hard drives and 10 watchout graphics computers, firing off different images from each and creating an impressive show. This, combined with Blitz' tight control over the stands audio systems, using speakers to restrict sound to the stand, made for a spectacular display of both the cars and Blitz' expertise.

Paul Hutton, managing director of Blitz comments: "We were extremely excited to be working alongside such big names in car manufacturing at the Motor Show. The systems that we used worked very well despite us having to operate within tight constraints, and we were able to use a combination of AV and sound technologies to create maximum impact on behalf of our clients at the Motor Show."

Blitz continues to use cutting edge technologies to provide exemplary solutions for its clients and the Motor Show contract comes hot on the heels of an equally successful event for fashion house Lacoste.
