GL4800 Goes Trucking
Allen & Heath's Irish distributor, Rea Sound, is involved in an exciting new educational programme called the Digital Creativity Truck, a groundbreaking audio/visual mobile studio bringing all the features of a professional recording studio to schools and colleges throughout Ireland.
Known simply as 'The Truck', the project features top spec gear, including a Nexo PS15/LS1200 system, an extensive list of rack gear, and at the helm, a 48-channel Allen & Heath GL4800 multi-purpose console, all provided by Rea Sound.
"First and foremost, Allen & Heath was chosen because of the brand's great sound quality," explains Michael Glackin of Rea Sound. "When it came down to deciding which console to install, the GL4800 won 'The Truck' crew over with its versatility, and most importantly - given that it is being used for educational purposes - the ease of use for such a professional desk."
'The Truck', backed by Ireland's education board, is already in big demand in schools and colleges the length and breadth of Ireland, and has a busy touring calendar for the rest of 2006, and early 2007.
