Last Chance for Rigging Training This Year

Learn about the critical field of rigging in the last Rigging Seminar this year. Master rigging in theatres, circuses, arenas, stadiums, schools, hotels, museums, conference centers, outdoor venues, and studios. Make events better, safer, more efficient, and more spectacular by rigging sound, lighting, video, scenery, and special effects. Your last chance this year is from 9-12 October in Seattle.

There’s more to rigging than wire, rope, and shackles! Riggers must understand the engineering principles to ensure the safety of the crew, performers, and audience.

Rigging Seminars are taught by Harry Donovan, one of the world’s best known and most experienced riggers, and by Jay Glerum, who has been doing, designing, teaching, and inspecting rigging for more than 45 years. This hands-on class is for both beginners and advanced riggers.

Both instructors have written the definitive books in their fields, ‘Entertainment Rigging’ and ‘Stage Rigging Handbook’, in use worldwide. Harry created RigRight, the most comprehensive software available for rigging planning.

Harry is both an engineer and a very experienced rigger. He has rigged more than 200,000 points over 36 years without a failure. During his long career he toured with top entertainers such as Elton John, The Eagles, Rod Stewart, Paula Abdul, Bruce Springsteen, REO Speedwagon, Aerosmith, The Who, and many others. He has engineered the rigging for many large events, such as international conventions, Billy Graham, Microsoft, and the Goodwill Games.

Jay has taught technical theatre at several universities, consulted on numerous theatre and television studio projects, been a scenery and lighting designer, and worked as a systems engineer for a major theatre equipment company. Jay specializes in rigging consulting and inspections for the entertainment industry. He is an active member of the joint United States Institute for Theatre Technology and Entertainment Services & Technology Associates Rigging Standards Committee.

Highly respected Rigging Seminars has trained thousands of riggers in private and public classes. It is the longest established and largest entertainment rigging training program in the world.
