ShowLED Animation is a new and innovative ShowLED system (designed by Amelia nv, Belgium) that combines existing in-house starcloth technology with upgraded individual pixel control.

Is it a starcloth? It certainly is. As in other ShowLED systems, the LEDs are placed randomly, ideal for creating starcloth effects. It comprises high output RGB LEDs on thin socket cables, a velcro mounting system, an excellent LED dimming curve, a fast LED response time and additive colour mixing

Contrary to most existing ‘LED to fabric’ video applications ShowLED Animation retains randomly positioned LEDs, with a significantly raised density. The LEDs can be individually controlled as pixels to create low to medium resolution still images, video loops and flash animations. So, it’s not really a video wall, but clients will definitely be amazed at what the ShowLED Animation system has to offer say sole UK distributors S+H Technical Support Ltd who will show the system at PLASA.

The system is designed to animate and give a backdrop (starcloth) some extra dynamism! The LEDs are still randomly positioned and therefore retain the simplicity to create starcloth effects. By far the biggest advantage of randomly placed LEDs is the quick set-up times of the cloths. Joining the individual panels together enables the system to appear as one large starcloth rather than individual panels.

And no expense has been spared in creating a system that will allow live input of information. An ultra fast data transfer offers unique opportunities to display different layers and insert instant live breaks.

Last but not least, to create the control information date transfer Amelia teamed up with Belgian colleagues of Arkaos. The Arkaos VJ (DMX) Media Server has been upgraded and adapted to communicate with the ShowLED Animation controllers.
