Harman Provide First-Class Service at Tennis Tournaments

The organisers at Devonshire Park asked East Sussex’s Accord Audio to supply the temporary loudspeaker system for both events. Fans of JBL speakers for many years, Accord decided to order some new EON models for their hire stock, and use these for both tournaments. “We’ve been using JBL speakers from the early days of Accord Audio, and have installed JBL products into many UK venues — we were the first UK company to make use of their AE speaker system, which we installed at TJ’s night club in Eastbourne,” says Accord’s Ian Goatcher. “The EON 1500s were just what we needed — we’ve used them at various outdoor events since.”
Harman Pro UK supplied Accord with a total of 12 passive EON 1500 speakers, and Ian installed these on the East and West stands at Devonshire Park, and also on the temporary South Stand, which was put up especially for these tournaments. Four JBL SRX 718S sub-bass units were also used, situated under the temporary South stand, and the system audio was sent to the speakers via a dbx Drive Rack 480, which handled EQ and limiting duties. Gareth Collyer of Harman Pro UK comments, “This was a bit of a departure for us — EON loudspeakers are typically specified for indoor applications and music venues. However, the EONs have proved their flexibility once again — the range was more than up to the challenge at Eastbourne.” Sadly, the pristine sound did little to help Great Britain at the Davis Cup tie — they lost to Israel 3-2!
